Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This website (ratecomparenow.online, and the same site served at ratesavings.online) is owned and operated by Pure Good Ventures LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Rate Compare ("we", "us", "our"). Our mailing address is 7867 Manorside Dr, Sacramento, CA 95832. You can reach us at austin@austinbpm.com. We are the data controller ("business" under California law) for the information described in this policy.

2. What this site does

Rate Compare is an independent advertising and comparison page for auto insurance quotes. We are not an insurance company, agent, or broker, and we do not collect insurance applications. When you click a button on our page, you are sent through an affiliate tracking link to a separate company's quote website, RateSavings.org, which is operated by an advertiser we work with through an affiliate network. That website has its own privacy policy, which governs anything you enter there.

3. Information we collect

We collect very little. Specifically:

Information you provide. The only input on this site is your answer to a Yes/No question about the state you live in. We do not ask for your name, phone number, email address, street address, ZIP code, date of birth, driver's license, vehicle details, or payment information.

Ad click and attribution data. When you arrive from an advertisement, the link may carry identifiers added by the advertising platform, such as a Google click identifier (gclid), campaign, ad group, keyword, match type, network, and device parameters, and UTM tags. We read these from the page address and pass them along when you click through (see section 5).

Approximate location. To display your state in the headline, the page may send your IP address to a geolocation service (ipapi.co) that returns an approximate state and country. We do not store the result; it exists only in your browser for that page view. You can also set the state with a link parameter instead.

Technical and log data. Our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) automatically records standard web server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you request, and timestamps. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the site running.

4. How we use information

We use the information above to: show you the page and personalize the headline with your state; pass your state answer and ad click identifiers to our affiliate tracking link so that the quote request can be attributed to our advertising; measure the performance of our advertising; keep the site secure and detect abuse; and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not build marketing profiles about you.

5. How information is shared

When you click Yes or No, your browser is sent to our affiliate tracking link at www.dxe7va1f.com (operated on the Everflow tracking platform for our affiliate network), which records the click together with your state answer and the ad click identifiers, and then forwards you to the advertiser's quote site, RateSavings.org. Those companies receive that information as independent businesses, and their privacy policies apply from that point on.

We also share technical data with service providers who act on our behalf: Vercel Inc. (website hosting and logs), ipapi.co (approximate location lookup), and Google (which may receive conversion data tied to your ad click through its advertising platform). We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or government request, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, sale, or reorganization of our business.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share it with third parties for their own cross-context behavioral advertising, other than the ad click identifiers passed to Google and to our affiliate network for attribution of the ad you clicked, as described above.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our own pages do not set cookies, run analytics scripts, or load advertising pixels. The affiliate tracking link and the advertiser's site reached after you click may set cookies or use similar technologies; please review their policies. Your browser's settings and Global Privacy Control signal are honored as described in section 9.

7. How long we keep information

We do not maintain a database of visitors. State answers and ad click identifiers are held only in your browser during the page view and then passed to the tracking link when you click. Hosting logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period (typically no more than 30 days) and then deleted. Aggregated advertising statistics that cannot identify you may be kept longer.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we store essentially no personal information ourselves, our main safeguards are limiting what we collect, using reputable service providers, and restricting access to our accounts. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we have about you, to access or receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not keep a record of visitors, in most cases we will have nothing to return, correct, or delete, but we will still respond to every request.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). In the preceding 12 months we have collected the categories listed in section 3 (identifiers such as IP address and ad click identifiers, internet activity, and approximate geolocation). We do not sell personal information. We treat passing ad click identifiers to Google and to our affiliate network for ad attribution as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, and you may opt out of this on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out request. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with consumer privacy laws. You have comparable rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or profiling. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response and stating that you want to appeal.

How to exercise your rights. Email austin@austinbpm.com with the subject line "Privacy request" and tell us which right you are exercising and the state you live in. We may ask for information needed to verify the request (for example, the approximate date and time you visited and the ad you clicked). We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by a further 45 days where permitted, in which case we will tell you. We will not charge you for a request unless it is excessive or repetitive.

10. Children

This site is intended for adults who are shopping for auto insurance. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Visitors outside the United States

Our advertising targets the United States and the site is hosted in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Third-party sites

This site links to the advertiser's quote site, RateSavings.org, and to the services named above. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect.
